  8. Server Mode CSM is a Control Strip Module that lets you control whether or not the Macintosh will power on automatically after a power failure.

  10. Compatibility

  12. This CSM should work on any late-model Macintosh.  It is known to work on the AGP G4, DV iMac, and iBook.

  14. Installing the CSM

  16. If you are using Mac OS 8.5 or earlier, you must drag the Control Strip Module to the Control Strip folder inside your System folder.  If you are using Mac OS 8.6 or later, the Mac OS will recognize the Control Strip - merely drag it to your System Folder, and the Mac OS will move it automatically for you.

  18. With Mac OS 8.5 or earlier:

  20. 1)  Open your System folder.
  21. 2)  Copy the Control Strip Module to the Control Strip Folder in your System folder.
  22. 3)  Restart your computer.

  24. Configuring the CSM

  26. Once you've installed the CSM, you can configure it to match your personal preferences.

  36. The popup menu lets you control the appearance of the Control Strip.

  39. When power is restored, the computer will start up automatically.

  42. When power is restored, the computer must be manually turned on.
